DATA GOVERNANCE AND ARCHITECTURE
Data governance consulting to organize your company's information
We are a data governance consulting company based in Barcelona, working with businesses across Spain. We design data governance and data architecture models so that every piece of data has an owner, a shared definition and a reliable structure, ready for your dashboards, your Business Intelligence and your artificial intelligence projects.
What is data governance and what is it for?
We organize your data into a reliable, secure structure that is ready to grow
Data governance means deciding who is responsible for each piece of data, what it means, which quality criteria it must meet and who can access it. Data architecture completes that work: it decides where information is stored, how sources are connected and how data is transformed.
The aim is for your company’s information to be consistent, accessible and reliable, and to serve as the foundation for reporting, Business Intelligence projects, automation and artificial intelligence. It is not about adding bureaucracy, but about a few shared rules that everyone in the company understands.
How we structure your data governance
Data structure
We design a clear data architecture to organize sources, databases, a data warehouse or data lake and transformation processes, so that each piece of data has a single origin.
Data quality
We set criteria to improve data reliability, avoid duplication and ensure a shared view of the business, with a clear owner for each piece of data.
Foundation for BI and AI
We prepare your data so you can build dashboards in Power BI or another data visualization tool, reports and artificial intelligence projects that rely on trustworthy information.
What data governance brings to your company
One definition for each piece of data
It organizes your company’s information so it is easier to consult, analyze and use when making decisions.
Reliable data without duplicates
It cuts duplication, errors and inconsistencies so you work with more reliable information that is aligned across departments.
A structure ready to grow
It gives you a data structure that is ready to grow, take on new sources and support future BI or AI projects.
Control over who accesses what
It defines criteria, responsibilities and processes to manage data securely, consistently and with the business in mind.
What our data governance service includes
Clear rules so your data stays in order
Organizing your data once is not enough: if nobody looks after it, within a few months the duplicates and the figures that don’t add up come back. Data governance sets out who is responsible for each piece of data, what it means, how its quality is checked and who can use it, and adapts all of this to the size of your company.
A few clear rules that people actually follow.
We start from the systems you already use, such as your ERP, your CRM, your online store or your spreadsheets, and from the findings of data consulting if you have already done it. Then we train your team so the model is applied day to day.
Roles
An owner for each important piece of data, usually in the area that generates it, who decides its definition and looks after its quality.
Criteria
Shared definitions: what an active customer is, how margin is calculated or what counts as a sale, the same across the whole company.
Quality
Rules to detect incomplete, duplicate or outdated data, and a periodic review of your key data.
Access
Who can view, edit or export each type of information, depending on their role in the company.
Data architecture: where each piece of data lives
Data warehouse
A central store with data that is already clean and structured, ready to feed reports and dashboards.
Data lake
A repository for large volumes of raw data, including unstructured data, useful when there are many sources or artificial intelligence projects.
Connected sources
Your ERP, your CRM, your online store and your spreadsheets connected, so data arrives on its own, with no copying and pasting.
Ready to analyze
A common data layer on which to build dashboards in Power BI or another data visualization tool, analysis and AI.
Not every company needs a data warehouse or a data lake. We design the data architecture based on volume, sources and what you want to do with the information, and connect it to your systems through ERP integration when needed.
How we implement data governance
Starting point
We review what data you have, where it is and what state it is in, or we start from data consulting if you have already done it.
Governance model
We agree with you on data owners, shared definitions, quality rules and access permissions.
Architecture and integration
We design where each piece of data is stored and connect your systems so information arrives in good order.
Training and improvement
We train your team and take care of maintaining and evolving the reports as your needs change.
What your organization gains from governed data
Unified data
It brings together information from different areas, tools and systems for a clearer, fuller view of your company.
Smarter decisions
It turns data into useful indicators to analyze results, spot opportunities and decide with more confidence.
Real-time control
See how the business is evolving through dashboards, reports and up-to-date metrics for your key processes.
Strategic growth
It identifies trends, improves planning and guides your actions with reliable information to drive your company’s growth.
Boost your strategy with other data solutions
Complement data governance with data consulting, Power BI dashboards, business analytics and ERP integration.
Data consulting
We analyze how data is generated, stored and used in the company to design a strategy that turns it into a real tool for control and decision making.
Power BI dashboards and reporting
We design dashboards in Power BI or another data visualization tool so you can track your key indicators with up-to-date data.
Business analytics
We apply advanced analytics to customer, operations and team data to detect patterns, room for improvement and levers for growth.
ERP integration
We connect your ERP with your CRM, online store and other systems so data flows automatically and reaches your reports in good order.

Frequently asked questions about data governance
What is data governance?
It is the set of owners, definitions, quality criteria and access rules that a company puts in place so its data is reliable and used the same way in every department. In Spanish it is known as gobierno del dato or gobernanza de datos; both terms refer to the same discipline.
What problems does data governance solve?
The ones that appear when an organization grows without shared criteria: the same indicator calculated differently in each department, data duplicated across several systems, information nobody knows who maintains and access rights granted without control. They are not technical failures but organizational ones, and they are solved by setting clear rules on who defines what and how.
Is this only for large companies?
No, even though the term sounds corporate. A mid-sized company with three or four systems and several departments already has the same problems, just on a different scale. What changes is not the need but the depth of the work: in a small organization it can be solved with a few agreed and well-documented criteria.
Do I have to change the systems I already use?
In most cases, no. Data governance works with what is already there: it defines how existing sources are organized, what each piece of data means and how they connect to each other. Changing a system is only considered when that system prevents the organization from doing what it needs, and it is a separate decision.
What is data architecture?
It is the design of where each piece of data is stored, how sources are connected and how information is transformed until it reaches the reports. A good data architecture avoids loose copies, repeated calculations and manual processes, and lets you add new sources without rebuilding everything.
Do I need a data warehouse or a data lake?
It depends on the volume and type of data. A data warehouse stores structured data that is already prepared for analysis, and it is the usual choice for dashboards. A data lake stores large volumes of raw data, including unstructured data, and fits when there are many sources or artificial intelligence projects. We work with both and help you decide which one makes sense in your case.
Who should be responsible for data in my company?
Usually each area is responsible for the data it generates: sales for customers, finance for invoicing, operations for stock. What matters is that each piece of data has a clear owner who decides its definition and looks after its quality. Agreeing on those owners with you is part of data governance.
Why should I organize my data before building dashboards?
Because a dashboard shows whatever it is given. If the sources are disorganized or each department calculates indicators its own way, the result will be a nice-looking panel with figures nobody believes, and the first meeting will be spent arguing about whether the data is right instead of what to do with it.
How is data quality measured?
With simple, measurable criteria: data that is complete, free of duplicates, consistently formatted, up to date and with the same value in every system. We define those criteria for your key data and how to review them periodically.
Do you connect the ERP and the CRM with Power BI?
Yes. We connect Power BI with ERPs such as Odoo and Dynamics 365, which we also implement, and with your CRM, your online store and your spreadsheets. Data governance makes sure that what reaches the dashboards means the same thing in every source.
Do you train the team and maintain the model afterwards?
Yes. We train your team so they understand the criteria and use the data and dashboards properly, and we take care of maintaining and evolving the reports when you add new sources or your needs change.
How is it different from data consulting?
They go hand in hand and are worked on together. Data consulting is the assessment: what data there is, where it is and what state it is in. Data governance is what is put in place afterwards so that order is kept: owners, quality criteria, shared definitions and access rules. And if you then want to go beyond reporting, business analytics builds on that foundation.
