E-LEARNING
Custom LMS development
for businesses
We build custom LMS platforms for businesses that need more than a standard campus: training staff, sales networks or customers, with certificates, reporting and integration with your systems.
What is a custom LMS platform
An LMS platform is the system where an organization hosts, delivers and manages its online training: courses, learners, progress tracking and evidence. We build it on Moodle™, the most widely used open-source LMS in the world, because there are no per-learner licences, your data stays yours and any functionality you need can be developed on top of it.
In practice, this means starting from a solid, proven base and building on it the features each organization needs: automatic certificates, progress reports with the data required to justify training, enrolment connected to your website, ERP or CRM integration, SCORM content, an app with your brand or AI assistants that answer learners’ questions. From a standard rollout to a virtual campus with thousands of users.
When does your business need custom LMS development?
A standard campus covers the basics: uploading courses, enrolling learners and checking their grades. Custom development makes sense when one of these situations applies, whether you are a large organization or an SME. If none does, we will tell you: a well-configured standard Moodle™ is probably all you need.
You need to justify your training
If you deliver subsidised or accredited training, the platform has to record connection time, progress and participation, and produce the reports required to justify it.
It has to connect to your systems
Enrolment from your website or online shop, learners synced with your ERP, CRM or HR tools, and payments and access with no manual work.
You train different audiences
Staff, sales network, distributors or customers, each with their own learning paths, access and reports.
You want it to carry your brand
A campus with your branding, verifiable certificates of your own and a mobile app with your name on it.

Who we work with
Accredited training providers
They deliver online training and need the platform to automatically generate the tracking evidence and connection times required to justify it.
Universities and colleges with their own programmes
The challenge lies in dropout rates, teaching staff workload and the accessibility standards required by law.
Professional associations
They accredit continuing professional development for their members and need numbered, verifiable certificates.
Companies
They train their staff, sales network or customers and want a user experience that matches the rest of their tools.
What an LMS development project includes
A platform with your branding
Moodle™ installation, configuration and hosting, with the campus designed around your corporate identity.
Courses, roles and learning paths
Course structure, user profiles, enrolment and learning paths based on your types of learner.
Automatic certificates
With your design, your own numbering and verification by code or QR, sent to learners when they finish.
Custom reports
Tracking with the indicators you need, including those required for subsidised training.
Integrations
With your website, online shop, ERP, CRM, HR tools or payment gateway.
Migration
Courses, users, grades and history if you are moving from another platform, without leaving learners locked out.
Content, app and AI
Interactive and SCORM content built from your materials, a mobile app with your brand and AI assistants, if you need them.
Maintenance
Version upgrades, backups, monitoring and support for whoever runs the campus.
Benefits of a custom LMS platform for your business
With a licensed LMS you pay for every learner and adapt to whatever the tool allows. With custom development on Moodle™ the cost is concentrated in the rollout, it does not grow with each user, and the platform adapts to your processes, not the other way round.
Training anytime, anywhere
Let students and employees access the content from any device and at any time.
Full control of your training
Manage courses, users, content and progress from a single platform.
Measure progress in real time
Get data on progress, results and user participation.
Train more people without limits
Scale up your training without a proportional increase in resources.
Tailor the training to each profile
Create learning paths by role, level or specific needs.
Cut spending on in-person training
Minimize logistics costs and maximize the reach of your training programmes.

How we develop your LMS platform, step by step
Starting point analysis
We review how you currently train your team or customers, which platform you use if you already have one, and what you need to measure or justify.
Defining requirements
We define profiles, learning paths, reports, integrations and whether a migration from another platform is needed. With that we agree scope, timeline and budget.
Design and development
We set up Moodle™ with your branding, build the custom features and integrations, and test everything before the campus opens.
Launch and maintenance
We migrate data if needed, launch the platform and keep it running with updates, backups, monitoring and support.

Frequently asked questions about LMS development for businesses
What is the difference between implementing an LMS and developing a custom one?
Implementing an LMS means installing it and configuring its standard features: courses, users, grades and basic reports. Developing a custom one means adding what the platform does not include out of the box and your organization needs: reports to justify training, certificates with your numbering, integration with your systems, your own enrolment flows or an app with your brand. Most projects combine both: we start from Moodle™ and only develop what adds value.
How much does it cost to implement an LMS platform?
It mainly depends on three factors: whether you are starting from scratch or already have a platform to migrate, the level of customization you need (your own branding, certificates, custom reports, mobile app) and integrations with other systems such as your ERP, CRM or payment gateway. Because we work on Moodle™, there are no per-learner licences, so the cost is concentrated in the rollout and does not grow every time you add users. On top of that you need to factor in hosting and annual maintenance. After an initial assessment meeting we give you a fixed quote, with no open-ended ranges.
How long does it take to launch a virtual campus?
It depends on the scope of the project. A standard Moodle™ rollout, with the platform configured and customized with your branding, can be up and running fairly quickly. Timelines get longer when content and users have to be migrated from another platform, when there are ERP or CRM integrations, or when custom features need to be developed. In our experience, what usually shapes the timeline is not the technical side but preparing the training content, which depends on your team. In the assessment meeting we define the scope and, with it, a specific timeline.
Does a custom LMS make sense for an SME?
Yes, as long as training matters to your business. Since Moodle™ has no per-learner licences, the cost does not grow every time you add users, and development can be done in phases: start with a standard rollout with your branding and add custom integrations or reports when you need them.
Why do you work with Moodle and not another LMS platform?
Because it is open-source software, so there are no per-learner licences and your data is yours; because it lets us develop any custom functionality, something closed platforms do not allow; and because it has the largest plugin ecosystem on the market. If another solution suits your case better, we will tell you.
Can we migrate from another platform without losing courses and history?
Yes. We migrate courses, users, grades and activity history from most platforms. We usually do it in parallel: we set up the new campus, migrate and validate the data, and only then switch over, so learners never lose access.
Is it suitable for subsidised training (FUNDAE) or official vocational certificates?
Yes. We configure the platform to record connection time, progress and participation, and generate the tracking reports in the format required to justify the training. It is one of the custom developments accredited training providers ask us for most.
Can I integrate the platform with my current systems?
Yes. We connect the campus with your ERP, CRM, HR tools, corporate website and payment gateways, so enrolments, access and learner data sync without manual work. See how website and e-commerce integration works.
Can I track progress and generate reports?
Yes. On top of Moodle™’s standard reports, we build custom reports with the indicators you need: progress by group, connection time, completion rates or learners at risk of dropping out. They can be exported and scheduled to be emailed automatically to whoever needs them.
Can we issue certificates automatically when a course is completed?
Yes. We set up automatic certificate issuing with your design, your own numbering and verification by code or QR. They are sent to learners as soon as they meet the completion conditions you define, with no one having to create them by hand.
Can e-learning also be used to sell training to external customers?
Yes. Besides internal training, the campus can work as an online academy, with a course catalogue, enrolment and payment integrated with your website or shop, and separate access for each type of customer. We can also take training to mobile with an app with your brand.
Why does a Moodle platform need maintenance?
A virtual campus is not a static website: Moodle™ releases regular security updates and, if they are not applied, the platform is left exposed with your learners’ personal data inside. Add to that backups, plugin compatibility after each update and day-to-day support for whoever runs the campus. That is why maintenance is not an optional extra: it is what keeps your investment working. We take care of it, with version upgrades, backups, monitoring and support for your team.
